Very short this week as Clarkey is moaning about his averages being out of date, about as out of date as his haircut I think.
This week we have Wolverton who have not only won every game this season but are among my least favourite teams in the league.
Saturday is also my birthday and I can think of no better present than the scalp of WTCC.
I want everybody to be ready from the off, 200% effort and 300% commitment, we have far more players than places now so everyone is fighting for a place.
Our climb back up the league needs to start from Saturday and who better to do it against than the old enemy, let's get out there, be ready to mix it and as a great captain once said .... 'lets f**k em up !!!!!!'

Well here goes my next page of rantings :)
First of congratulations to Matt for his great knock on Saturday ( 112 no ), an innings far beyond his years, playing at a level that some of us can only aspire to.
Well I think on reflection we didn't do much wrong on Saturday, perhaps I should have bought Martin and Siva on a little earlier but we'll never know. I was extremely pleased that everyone kept the effort up though, battling to the end.
Next week sees us at North Crawley who are currently top of the league so more of the same please. |
Well we have now had the first league game of the season and thoughts so far are 'OK, could do better but apply themselves well' :-)
On reflection we did well to come away from Brickhill with some points as well as managing to deprive them of 10 points of course.
We have a friendly at Wicken this week and a fair few people coming available for selection so it's no longer going to be an automatic selection for anyone available.
Things to improve from the last game, not much really as everyone dug in well when we were getting lashed to all points of the compass. Just need to attack the ball a little more when fielding, make the opposition work for every run and don't become complacent.
Marks for this week 7.5 / 10 |
Well here goes my first ever Blog entry, be nice to me !!
1 month and 1 day to our first competitive game of the season, away at Great Brickhill. It doesn't look as if their 1st or 2nd teams have fixtures yet for that date so may be an interesting team that they are putting out !!!
Squadwise we have lots of players at the moment and I have what I think is a good mix of young and old, experience and impetuousness.
Targets for the forthcoming season for the 3rd XI have to be promotion from our current league as well as enjoying the games that we play but remaining commited. For those of you that haven't played with me before I don't expect superhuman efforts from anybody, just 100% commitment from everybody on the pitch.
Anyway I hope to see as many people as possible at the players meeting this coming Saturday and here's hoping we have a dry and successful season !!

Well here we go, well rested after the trials and tribulations of the tour and ready to kick off the new season in style.
Our first league game is at Great Brickhill tomorrow, fingers crossed we'll get off to a winning start, welcome back to Martin Jones after his winter in Australia, I think Martin, Nick and Chris will be battling for top wicket taker this season.
Matt and Tom favourite to win batting honours, Khush to win best fielder !!!
However any challengers to these titles more than welcome to step up :-)
Here's to a good start to the season. |
