Bletchley Town CC u15's Results 2009 Season
5th June 2009  Home  versus  Great Horwood
Bletchley  131 - 8   20 overs   Great Horwood 125 - 5  20 overs      Bletchley won by 6 runs
With so few players in the u15 age group Bletchley will only be playing friendly's this year with the
aim being to get 8 fixtures. Great Horwood have agreed to four of them and were our first opponents.
The Bletchley team was made up of four under 15's with the rest coming from the u13's and u14's.
Bletchley won the toss and elected to bat, Matt Shepherd and Adam Wirth putting on 54 for the first
wicket with Matt out for 24. Michel Houpe manage 2 and Adam retired at the end of the elleventh over
with 29. Harry Tarrant 17 , Ben Talbot 10 and Tom Heenan with an unbeaten 10 were the main scorers
along with extras as Town managed 131 - 8. In reply ten bowlers were used , Kobi Balendren bowled
with real pace and was unlucky not to get a wicket. Ashu Ravi 1 - 9 , Tom Heenan 1 - 6 , Connor
Cockerill 1 - 15 picked up wickets. Horwood made it close with Jack Goodyear smashing 50 including
12 off the penultimate over leaving 12 to win off the final over. Captain Matt bowled it straight enough
and took a good caught and bowled to ensure Bletchley won an entertaining game by 6 runs.
3rd July 2009 Home versus Great Horwood
Great Horwood 179 - 4  24 overs  Bletchley 146 - 9  24 overs  Gt Horwood won by 33 runs
Great Horwood won the toss and batted, below par fielding and bowling allowed Horwood to rattle up
179 off their 24 overs. Ben Talbot 1 - 19, Matt Allen 1 - 7 , Jack Lawrence 1- 23 and Alex Salisbury with
a maiden wicket thanks to a brilliant catch by Adam Wirth 1 - 15 were the wicket takers. In reply
Adam Wirth and Satchi Mehendren were run out and Nick cut straight to point first ball to leave
Bletchley a mountain to climb. Matt Shepherd batted well for a superb innings of 80 before being
run out in the penultimum over. Only Satchi with 12 and Ben Talbot with 10 made double figures
apart from Matt as Horwood won convincingly by 33 runs togo one all in the series.
10th July 2009 Home versus Great Horwood
Bletchley 130 - 8 22 overs  Great Horwood  133 - 5 20.4 overs  Gt Horwood won by 5 wickets
Match three of the five match series saw Bletchley batting first , Matt made just 9 , Adam 6 and
Harry Tarrant 15. Then entered Kobi Balendren promoted up the order to number five , Kobi then
played the innings of his career so far. Kobi who's bowling resembles Devon Malcolm certainly bats
the same way , Kobi quickly passed his previous best of 15 with an amazing unbeaten innings of 50.
Kobi smote all but six runs on the leg side including three massive sixes , nobody else contributed
much as Bletchley finished on 130 - 8 in their 22 overs. In reply Bletchley kept it tight with good
bowling by Tom Heenan 0 - 19 and Jamie Galvin 1 - 24 both off four overs. Harry Tarrant also bowled
well picking up 1 - 17, Adam Wirth 1 - 30 and Ben Talbot 2 - 13 also picked up wickets but Gt Horwood
got home with 8 balls left to win by 6 wickets.
